Circuit Board Quilt

When I started thinking about how interesting some of the innards of computers could be, my son encouraged me and kept collecting things for me to use. When I had enough items, he started taking them apart, so I could see the colors and shapes. I found lovely iridescent tiles that I decided to use for the border; and they are what gave this 24"x24" piece its name. This is an interactive artwork because there are various elements that can be moved.

On a different level, the black “stepping stones” express the flow of ideas from one company to another found in Silicon Valley, as well as the flow of information within a computer.
